About Kyun

Kyun answers one question about money or technology in India every day: why your in-hand salary is lower than your CTC, why "no-cost" EMI still costs something, why a phone is pricier here than abroad.

Each explainer starts as a 60-second reel on Instagram and YouTube. This site carries the full written version: the numbers worked out step by step, the rules behind them, and links to every source we used.

How we work

• Every number and rule comes from a source listed at the end of the post: government notifications, regulators, company filings or established publications.
• When a rule changes, we update the post and its date.
• We don't sell financial products or take payment to cover one.
